The Blues and the Muse

from The Loneliness of the Songwriter by Len

/

lyrics

I got the blues, I got my shoes
I got a muse and nothing to lose
carry my guitar on my back
I pick a flower on the lonesome track

the troubadour writes. the troubadour sings
about dirty angels losing their wings
the troubadour dives into the sea
riding the waves….on a desert tree

and I’m going round and round
feel the rhythm hear the sound

a place for noble man to go
into the alleys of the soul
into the gutters of the mind
into the dawn…. that was left behind

I got the blues. i got my shoes
I got a muse and nothing to lose
carry my guitar on my back
I travel the roads….and don’t look back

and I’m going round and round
feel the rhythm hear the sound

about

Len Netherlands

I write songs that I record in my little home studio. I catch grooves on which melodies grow and express a kind of magic realism in my lyrics.
